Workplace Interventions
The SANCA Workplace Intervention Policy and five workplace programmes were developed to provide standardised services to businesses in all the provinces. The aim is to empower employers and educate employees in addressing substance abuse problems in the workplace and to utilise specialist providers such as SANCA to as a support structure within the employment sector for both the employer and the employee
TThe following workplace interventions can be offered by SANCA:
- Reviewing or developing a company policy and procedure to manage SUD in the workplace
- Substance use Awareness campaigns to create safer work environments
- Employee Substance Abuse Educational Programmes to reduce some of the negative impacts on the workplace
- Wellness days and exhibitions to promote healthy lifestyles
- Supervisors and Managers Training programmes for early detection and basic interventions
- Onsite or Offsite assessment, counselling, referrals to resources for individuals by professionals specialising in the treatment of substance use disorders
- Onsite or Offsite support and other groups for returnees
- Workplace testing
- Specialist services, e.g. trauma work/ relationships, etc.
